FAMILIARITY

Mark 6:3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

One would wonder why Jesus didn't perform so many miracles in His home town, was He not sent to the Jews? Did He hate them?

No! He didn't and in fact, He was sent to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles.

Their main problem was familiarity.

They thought they knew everything about Jesus, so, they didn't believe in Him.

He performed many miracles in other places, yet, couldn't do much in His land.

Your husband, wife, Siblings e.t.c may be heavily anointed, so much that, many people are being blessed through them, but you may not benefit from them if you're not careful. If you think, after all he's my husband/son/brother e.t.c I'm the one feeding him, I cloth him, he/she is my protege, so, what can he do? What can she do that I can't!

Miriam and Aaron thought since they were older than Moses, they could speak to him anyhow. Alas! God dealt with Miriam, even without Moses reporting her.

Michal, a daughter of King Saul and the wife of King David, became barren because she underrated the presence of God in the life of her husband. She mocked him for dancing so much in the presence of God and the people.

Brethren, it's not a crime if you're close to a minister of God, but it becomes a crime when you allow familiarity to becloud your sense of reasoning. 

Respect them!

Cherish them!

Value them!
