The Rt. Rev'd Dr. Peter Rotimi Oludipe, Ph.D

Rt. Revd. Dr. Peter Rotimi Oludipe, Ph.D was born in Iwaya Ijebu, Ijebu East Local Government of Ogun State over 5 decades ago to Papa and Mama D. A. Ogundipe. He had his primary education at St. Andrew’s Primary School, Imuwen and studied for his West African School Certificate in Isonyin Grammar School, Isonyin-Ijebu between 1976 - 1981. In 1983, he proceeded to Ogun State School of Basic Studies, Ijebu Ode for his Higher School Certificate (HSC). The period marked a turning point in his life.

He sensed the call of God upon his life to join the Church ministry within the Anglican Communion. He sought Godly counsel from church fathers, particularly Venerable E.B. Abiala (Rtd) who nurtured and trained him as his first fruit in Holy Trinity (Ang) Church, Obalende, Ijebu Ode. When he was admitted into Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan from 1986 - 1989. His distinctive performance won him a prize as the best student in Pastoral Counselling on his graduation at Immanuel College of Theology, Samonda, Ibadan. He later attended the University of Ibadan where he obtained his first academic degree in Religious Studies (B.A. Rs), a postgraduate Master’s degree in Guidance and Counselling and for His Doctorate (Ph.D) in Counselling Psychology.

Upon the completion of his first degree in Religious Studies, he was posted to Ibadan Diocese and was made a Deacon on 30th June 1991 by the Rt. Rev. G.I.O. Olajide. His first station was St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Agbowo, U.I. He was ordained a priest on 5th July, 1992 at the Cathedral Church of St. James’ (The Great) Oke Bola, Ibadan. From March 1993, he served as the Pioneer Vicar of Jesus Christ Ambassadors Evangelical (Ang.) Church, Yemetu, Alaadorin, Ibadan for five years and thereafter was transferred to the Cathedral Church of St. James (The Great), Oke Bola. In 1998, he was preferred Statutory Canon of the Cathedral and served as the Canon in Residence till he was preferred Archdeacon and posted to serve in a higher capacity at Christ Church Mapo, Ibadan. On 14th March 1999, he was inducted as Vicar, Christ Church Mapo, Ibadan and was also collated Archdeacon of Mapo Archdeaconry, a position he held until his appointment as Provost of Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Italowajoda, Ijasi, Ijebu-Ode in the Anglican Diocese of Ijebu on the 10th October, 2010 - 13th September, 2020 when he was elected as Bishop Designate of the See of the Anglican Diocese of Ijebu. On the 22nd July, 2020 and consecrated on the 21st September, 2020 by His Grace, Most Revd. Henry C. Nndukuba (Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, Anglican Communion).

His ministry has brought phenomenal changes to the infrastructural and spiritual development of the Cathedral since his arrival in Ijebu Land. He has distinguished himself as a transparent, honest manager of men and resources, an astute Theologian, and a dependable Priest. He has attended several conferences both locally and internationally. Rt. Revd. Dr. P.R. Oludipe is a very friendly and devoted Christian who relates very well with all and sundry. He is married to his amiable and humble heartthrob, Dr. Mrs Bimbola Oludipe, an Associate Professor and a Princess from the Royal Dynasty of Bamgbelu of Owu-Ijebu. She lectures at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. She is a very hardworking and dedicated Christian who enjoys teaching and training young people to become responsible adults in the society, and the marriage is blessed with Godly Children
