These Religious activities led the workers of God of Christ Church Porogun, Ijebu-Ode to the construction of a thatched roofed Church and the mission housein January 1893. In 1897, Rev. E. W. George was transferred to Abeokuta and he was succeeded by Rev. B I. Manuwa. The first vicarage was built during his time. He initiated the building of the second Church, the foundation of which was laid in 1902. The church was dedicated after completion by Rt. Rev. Isaac Oluwole D. D. on the 16th April, 1906
